Home Network: Wireless network management

Wireless network management

Wireless network management is normally performed by one person known as the network administrator or admin for short. Managing the network is important, as software and drivers must be kept up to date, and hardware must be checked to be running correctly for a fully operational network. Home wireless networks are much easier to manage than enterprise networks, primarily because of their scale. Normally the number of users is no more than four people. Most of the core functionality of the network exists in the router. This can be easily accessed by the admin, via the web based software interface of the router. New settings can be applied at the click of a button and changes saved. The default address for this is 192.168.0.1, which can be typed into any compatible web browser. Many settings have good default values, which make management of the network a simple task.
